Amber Littlejohn
DOB: July 6, 1975Birth Place: Monterey, California Height: 5'10" Competition Weight: 130-135 lbs Years Bodybuilding: began training at age 23 BIO: Amber Littlejohn, well known to be one of the tallest figure competitors on the pro circuit, as well as one of the few native Americans competing today. Amber grew up in a large family of 6 children. Always a tomboy who found herself getting in fights, and growing up in a cabin in the woods with very few amenities, it would take some time for her to adapt a more feminine approach. Although not a very active child by technical standards, at the age of 23 Amber began to take weight training quite seriously, simply in order to deal with personal issues. Like so many, working out became an outlet for Amber. In 2001, Amber entered her first fitness competition, the 2001 NPC San Jose Fitness and Figure Championships where she won. In order to protect her joints, she then decided to devote her time strictly to figure. She moved to Orlando FL where she runs a supplement company Nutrex Research with her fiancée, and by 2003, Amber found herself an IFBB figure pro after winning the Figure Nationals. Now, one of the most popular pros today; she has placed in the top 5 in almost every competition she has entered, including a 2nd place finish at the 2006 Figure Olympia. After the show Amber announced she was planning to retire, but the force and desire of competing grabbed her again in 2007. Although a rough placement at the 2007 Olympia compared to the previous year, Amber’s biggest concern had become the fact that her fiancée had been diagnosed with cancer. Whether the 2007 Olympia was her last show or not has yet to be determined.
