    Laptop advice

I'm am thinking of buying an Apple for financial transactions, banking, bill paying etc, have heard apple is excellent for this as its software is more secure and would not have to keep updating security as with microsoft. I would appreciate your opinions on this, thanks.

To answer your question and give you an accurate comparison will be easy .

Ok... soo if you have an antivirus that is up to date and works well (such as kaspersky, nod32, VET) then that will eliminate all programs that could possibly steal your account details.

Then... if some one does a middle man attack, which means they get between your connection and relay it like your connected normally so that they can steal the incomming data, then the bank will refund all money stolen as this should have been covered by their security system itself.

Banks spend an absurd amount of cash on making sure that you cannot get hacked.

Regardless of your operating system, Mac, Linux, Windows... what ever else their is, your going to be safe with a good antivirus thats up to date, because the bank will take care of the rest.

Good info thx, but still doesn't quite answer question. I was of the opinion that with apple I could avoid constant updates to anti-virus or do you need to with apple anyway, maybe my information is incorrect.

oh sorry i tottaly missed that.
uhm, in my professional opinnion your still using the same internet connection, but i could say that yes you probably wont need constant updates from an antivirus, but id imagine if your surfed the internet enough you could still pick up some viruses.
so i would still probably purchase an antivirus any way.

but then again an antiviruses updates are relatively tiny after the first initial big update

Buy a MacBook, even a basic starter model, and you won't ever want to use a PC again. Apple is head and shoulders above the others.
